We offer engagement options designed to minimize disruption to your business processes and users. It won't be entirely "zero-impact" — some involvement from your users and in-house IT team is unavoidable — but we plan around your business calendar and the availability of key stakeholders to keep that impact as low as possible.

Our approach and toolkit are built around one principle: we don't need direct access to your production data. When we integrate our migration workflow into your infrastructure, we do it together with your security team. Our tools work only with code and logs — never with data itself, including during data sampling for testing, validation or coexistence scenarios. The scripts and flows we deliver run entirely inside your company's perimeter, and none of our tools connects directly to your data.

Your in-house team is central to a successful migration — they hold key expertise in the existing platform, so they're involved throughout the process. We also run workshops and enablement sessions on the new platform so the transition is smooth, and they can become the core team on the new platform afterward. Where it fits, they can even lead the migration themselves, using our methodology with our support.

In our experience, migrations starting from 100 assets in scope take at least 2–4 months end-to-end, with 1–2 months of that being hands-on delivery work. Actual timing depends on migration scope, your in-house processes, user availability and involvement, and the engagement model you choose.

Yes — that's exactly why we offer several different packages and engagement options, some designed specifically for this case. For example, E2E Migration Enablement covers full automated process deployment, configuration, and team enablement: we migrate a small portion of the scope ourselves to validate the setup, train your future migration team, and share our methodology. From there, you and your partner run the full migration together, with us providing the ongoing support you've engaged us for.

Not always. In some packages, the license is bundled with our services; in others (like E2E Migration Enablement) you only pay for a license after we've delivered the initial setup, once you're migrating on your own. If you just need user-enablement workshops for the new platform, Alchemist isn't required at all.

Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric are our most common targets, but we're not limited to these three — our approach can extend to other modern data platforms which support Spark, depending on your architecture.
